Bolton helps Nor'easters put Black Bears on ice

Chris Bolton's first career hat-trick powered UNE past the UMaine club team

BREWER, Maine -- First-year Chris Bolton (Dover, N.H.) scored three goals to lead the University of New England Nor'easters to a 10-6 win over the University of Maine club hockey team Friday evening.

Trailing 3-2 midway through the second period, the Nor'easters opened up a two-goal lead by scoring four times over the final 7:42 of the frame.  Bolton and sophomore Jack Nolin (Somersworth, N.H.) each notched a pair of scores during the goal barrage.

First-year forward Ted Fabian (Oakland, Maine) tacked on a pair of third-period goals to help the Nor'easters hold off any thoughts of a Black Bear rally.

Todd Bartlett (Dover, N.H.) dished out four assists for UNE, which held a 40-34 lead in shots on goal.  Bryan MacLure (Winchendon, Mass.) and Tony Dube (Biddeford, Maine) combined to make 28 saves.

The Nor'easters (10-4-1) will look to run their win streak to five next Friday when they play a road game versus Bridgewater State College.
