BIDDEFORD, Maine -- On Nov. 17, University of New England men's lacrosse players Evan Xanthos and Bobby Labbe--senior applied exercise science majors--volunteered to present to three sixth grade classes at the Cascade Brook School in Farmington, Maine.

Two classes focused on the topic of sports nutrition, exercise and energy drinks that have flooded the market in recent years. They used a Power Point presentation and created a Jeopardy game to involve the students in an exchange of information and ideas.

The third class involved the dissection of deer hearts and identifying similarities and differences with the human heart. Anatomy, physiology and function was presented to the students in an interactive format to engage them.
