Women's soccer team headed to ECAC Tournament

Doug Biggs' Nor'easters will play on after earning an ECAC Tournament berth
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- After putting together its finest season since 2000, the University of New England women's soccer team has been selected for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship.

The Nor'easters, seeded fourth, will travel to No. 5 Curry College for an opening-round contest on Wednesday, Nov. 12.  Game time is 6:30 p.m.

Other first-round games feature No. 1 Keene State College playing No. 8 Lasell College, No. 2 Brandeis University taking on No. 7 St. Joseph College of Connecticut, and No. 3 Fitchburg State College hosting No. 6 Emmanuel College.

Semifinal-round games are slated for Saturday (Nov. 15), with the championship played Sunday (Nov. 16).

The Nor'easters (13-5) defeated Curry during the regular season.  UNE downed the Colonels, 2-0, Oct. 14 at Milton, Mass.
