BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England women's soccer player Maggie Mahoney has been chosen The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Rookie of the Week for the period ending Oct. 12.  TCCC Sports Information Coordinator Matt Pettinicchi made the announcement this afternoon.

Mahoney, a first-year forward from Newburyport, Mass., totaled five goals and two assists in a pair of TCCC wins.  She scored once and handed out two assists in a 7-1 road win at Regis College last Tuesday, then tallied four goals in Saturday's 7-0 shutout of Wentworth Institute of Technology.  She scored three times in the opening 15 minutes versus Wentworth.

Heading into today's match with Salve Regina University, Mahoney leads the Nor'easters in goals scored (9) and total points (24).
